So today, I want to talk a little bit about Natasha Denona eyeshadow palettes and why I think they are worth the splurge.
I mean these palettes cost an arm and a leg but are they really worth it? I have seen so many reviews on them and for the longest time, I thought, hmmm, what's in these shadows that they cost so much money!? I mean, you need a separate savings account almost! Haha
Anyway, jokes apart, when she launched her smaller palettes which were relatively cheaper, plus Sephora was hosting a 20% off sale, I thought, now is my chance to splurge and see what's the hype! The first palette I purchased was the Sunrise palette, reason being, I knew it was something that I was going to use as the colour story is right up my alley. I figured, while I am spending so much, I might as well buy something that I will be tempted to use. I absolutely loved the colour story in that palette and the packing from Sephora was awesome. They pack Natasha Denona palettes in a separate box since a lot of people experienced damaged palettes initially so to keep it more secure, it's a box in a box kinda situation. Following that, I purchased the Bronze palette (similar warm toned colour storey like the sunrise palette) and later, the Glam palette, which in comparison to the other two is a cooler toned eyeshadow palette, which doesn't have any shade names but rather marked with placements of the shadows. Different but useful in my opinion especially if you are just starting out with makeup, or you struggle a a bit with colour combinations/coordinations.
I tried these palettes when I was battling eczema around my eyes and they were quite dry, flaky and textured and just not a great canvas to be trying out new shadows. I tried them nonetheless, as I did many others during that phase, but here's why I think they are worth it, these were the only shadows that hid the texture around my eyes and made them look so pretty and put together. No one was able to tell that I was experiencing eczema around my eyes. I not only got a lot of compliments on the shadows but also how youthful my eyes looked. They also didn't flare up my eczema post usage and neither did I experience any sort of burning or irritation during use. They are rich, creamy, highly pigmented and buttery smooth shadows which are a dream to blend. You can create effortless looks with the palettes and each of them are quite self sufficient, you won't need to dig into another shadow palette to complete an eye look. You can create a complete eye makeup look from one palette and the ease of use makes it all the more enjoyable. Personally, it saves a lot of time due to ease of blending and the fact that all the shadows compliment each other so wonderfully, it takes the guesswork out of using the palettes. With the two palettes in the collection, and if you have a neutral palette taste, you wouldn't need any other palettes really. However, if colour is what you are after, then maybe one more palette wouldn't hurt. I mean, who says no to more makeup?? Right??
